2020 - Our Response to COVID-19

To our Players, Captains, Coordinators, and Volunteers—

Due to the uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic and closures across the state, we have made the decision to cancel the Massachusetts Biotechnology Softball League (MBSL) 2020 regular & playoff season. Although we are disappointed, we think that this is the prudent decision to make at this time, for the safety of our MBSL family.

  • Payment/Refunds – Any teams who have already submitted payment for the 2020 season will be eligible for a full refund, or credit to be applied to the 2021 softball season. Please reach out to our treasurer, Jane Kepros (jane_kepros@mbsoftball.com) to coordinate, or if you have any other questions about payment.

  • Trophies – In the coming weeks, we will work to make arrangements to deliver trophies to our 2019 Divisional & League champions. We will reach out to the captains of each team to coordinate transfer once we have received the trophies from our vendor.

  • We will continue to monitor the situation, and post any updates on our website as information becomes available. If the opportunity presents itself to safely organize a small tournament or series of fun “pick-up” games in the late summer/early fall, we will communicate accordingly. We miss you all, and hope we are able to meet up later in the year!
Please stay safe and well! As always, don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions, comments, or concerns, to us or your divisional coordinator.

Sincerely,
Jane Kepros & Alex Long
MBSL Co-Commissioners
